Technology:

Yinkha is highly industrialized and possess a high level of technology. Unfortunately, all research is and must be initiated by Lachesis.

Magic:

Trained citizens utilize a unique kind of energy tapping. They are able to channel a limited amount of energy of any kind from any source and discharge it in another form. They may not store any of such energy within them however, and it is still under research.

Size:

The Empire of Yinkha includes one star system. 3 planets maintain life. The Star System is named Yinkhain, the 5 planets: Alpha, Beta, Chesis, Danne, Esh. Beta, Chesis and Danne harbors life.

Population:

Roughly 3 Billion. 1 Billion Suppressers and 2 Billion Suppressed.

Climate and Geography:

  • Alpha: The planet closest to the sun, sustains no life.
  • Beta: The 2nd planet, sustains life only at the polar regions, tropical but having little rainfall.
  • Chesis: The 3rd planet, the cradle of the Yinkha. A thin crust of earth covers the liquid surface of Chesis. The weather is controlled.
  • Danne: The 4th planet, sustains life only at the equator. The surface is mostly plain-like. The weather is unpredictable.
  • Esh: The outermost planet, sustains no life. The surface is composed mostly of frozen water and chlorophyll, and has no atmosphere.

Flora and Flauna:

Yinkha harbors very earthlike flora and fauna for unknown reasons.

History:

The empire of Yinkha is as old as Lachesis. And no one has out-lived her, for she is immortal. It was never stated as to when she came into being, although some say that she was created long after humans first appeared.

It is believed that the citizens of Yinkha are immigrants from a long-gone world.

Government:

Lachesis is empress and the focus of all society within Yinkha. Yinkha is somewhat feudal, but Lachesis is omnipresent and has absolute rule over the whole empire. Nearly every citizen is unquestionably loyal to Lachesis and Yinkha, except for a few flawed citizens and visionaries. There is only one government, and one absolute ruler, Lachesis. Every aspect of the citizens' lives are controlled by this single ruler. Laws are unwritten, but strictly obeyed and known to all. Lachesis hears and passes out judgment to all disputes. Leaders are chosen at Lachesis's consent.? Leaders are appointed only for cosmetic purposes and are not vital to the empire.

Foreign Policy:

Yinkha gives outsiders the shivers. It may take any side or do anything at all to further it's causes. However, outsiders usually consider Yinkha's help invaluable, but realize that they will ultimately pay a high price.

Domestic Policy:

The government is totalitarian, but has no need to exercise it's power. Lachesis does not tax her people because no one owns anything in Yinkha. The people know no other rule other than Lachesis. There is absolute freedom in Yinkha, because nothing ever happens outside Lachesis scope of planning. Violence and crime is unknown, unless organized on purpose by Lachesis beforehand.

Society:

The whole society is under a rigid class structure. It is based around individuals. There are two cultures within Yinkha, the suppressers and the suppressed. Every citizen is bred to be an upstanding member of society, and have very little in the way of individuality. Social interaction is generally encouraged, and happy. Two groups of people exist:

•families?
There is no family. The society is composed of individuals under the rule of Lachesis.

•religious groups?
There is only one religion, Lachesis'. It is not considered a religion.

•political groups?
There are no political groups.

•economic groups?
There is no need for economic groups.

•others?
Leaders are appointed by the empress for tasks requiring co-ordination of citizens.

Empress-Goddess Lachesis has absolute power. She appoints leaders who hold no specific rank for specific tasks. The lower society is divided into Suppressers and Suppressed, with the suppressers generally being superior in society to the suppressed.

Languages:

There are three languages, and all citizens are fluent in every one of them. Larts is used for general interaction and the creative arts. Lach is used for magic in Yinkha. Lamine is used for mathematics, engineering and science in Yinkha.

Religion:

The only religion in Yinkha is Lachesis worship, but worship is not required, and it is not really a religion.

Castes:

There are 4 levels of society: Lachesis the empress-goddess, appointed leaders, suppressers and suppressed. All classes including the empress interact freely with each other. Slaves are not needed as all citizens are virtual slaves of the society of Yinkha.

Economy:

There is no economy and no monetary system. Wealth is distributed according to the immediate needs of each individual.? Both genders work within the society.

Military:

Yinkha's military is called upon from the ranks of the ordinary citizens only when needed. Every citizen is combat capable, but possess differing knowledge in operating weapons and specialization. The armed forces are controlled by temporary leaders chosen by Lachesis. The Empire employs whatever weapons are deemed suitable by Lachesis.

Sports and Leisure:

What do the people of the empire do to entertain themselves? Theater, music, leisure activities, festivals, celebrations and so on should all be described. What is the Empire's art like and how much art is for public consumption? What are the society's attitudes towards leisure time?

Major Population Centers:

Major Population Centers

The sun is unnamed. It is Lachesis herself, radiating with power greater than any known, the energy of souls. Every citizen of Yinkha is aware of the fact that their sun is Lachesis, but no one knows why it's light heals the mind.

The sun of the Yinkhain system defends itself by means of solar flares directed at potentially threatening targets, and the sun itself is virtually indestructible.

Practically all of the 1 billion Supressors live on the main planet of Chesis, along with 0.5 billion of the Supressed. The other two habited planets have a population of 0.25 billion Supressed each, and a small number of Supressors.

It is generally known that the planet of Chesis was once known as GC-3, and has 1 moon in orbit, called GCM-1A. In times past, GCM-1A, composed of an unknown and mysterious element, was wilfully destroyed and its matter used to build a support under the crust of GC-3.

The element has the ability to convert pressure into potential energy, and most of the power used on GC-3 (Now Chesis) comes from a support between the crust and the core, feeding on gravity naturally generated by the planet.

Excess power generated by the support is stored in the innermost core of the planet, where an unknown grey matter resides. There to stay until tapped by Lachesis herself in times of need.

Chronic Problems:

There is one great problem with the empire. Lachesis isn't an individual, she is the combined awareness of every citizen in Yinkha. At birth, babies of Yinkha have their souls secretly taken and replaced by a link-soul. This link-soul links the original soul, now fused with Lachesis', with the body, and sub-consciously affects everything each citizen does. No-one except Lachesis, and perhaps a few wild individuals, knows of this. For this knowledge can drive nearly any citizen mad, and destroy Yinkha. Yinkha is also hopelessly dependent upon Lachesis.

There are also the "flawed", individuals whose soul-replacement weren't completed or had unknown side effects due to unknown inborn traits and abilities, and citizens who somehow found out about the fact that they don't have souls.
