The Dragonlands

Overview:

  • *Warning*

[This world has several highly dangerous cultures and lifeforms, contact is only advisable if under guidance of a local guide!!!]

The Dragonlands are a strange and highly magical world. It seems to be composed of a planet inhibited by several low-cultural humanoid lifeforms; who are ruled by the strange and mighty Race that calls itself Dragons. The world itself can only be visited if proper visa are granted by an Official Ambassador.

The Dragons seem to have great power over the magical energies, there are several indications that they are magically able to space-travel and seem to have visited some of the known worlds in times long ago. Why they ceased their travelings is left to speculation.

Their planet's population is heavily guarded and the Dragons prohibit any contact between outsiders and the natives. Trespassers will be prosecuted.

Matter, Essence and Life are created. Matter forms the World, a Big Bang formed the Dragons and afterwards the flow of Life ceased to a drip so that only smaller Races evolve.

Technology is difficult; advancement and quantity are low. Magic is powerful, easy to master and plentiful. Technology sometimes changes, this caused advancements like the "Dwarf" technology. Magic suffers wild changes, this causes the appearance of unusual and dangerous creatures called "Demons".

The Dragons are quite protective of their races, form a stable rule and are themselves quite interested in Omnet.

Technology:

Tech level is quite low, likened to pre-industrial levels.

Magic:

Magic is quite important, as the Dragons use it for everything.

Size & Population:

One planet with an unknown number of sentient lifeforms.

Climate and Geography:

Typical Class G climate, several continents.

Flora and Fauna:

Typical animals, lots of reptilians, plus unusual and dangerous creatures like‚Trolls, etc...

History:

The Dragons will give no data about history and, unfortunately, most other races don’t keep records.

Government:

The Dragons are treated and obeyed like gods; otherwise all known forms of leadership exist and are in use in the local subcultures.

Foreign Policy:

The Dragons seem to be interested in other planets and also appear quite fascinated by technology.

Domestic Policy:

Due to their physical and magical supremacy they rule quite easy, but they encourage independence on a non global level and even tolerate wars.

Society:

The society of the Dragons appears to be quite simple: the eldest is always followed.

Other races form all sorts of societies.

Languages:

Dragon is the main language all Races share; otherwise there are myriad’s of languages.

Religion:

The Gods are the Dragons. It is unknown if the Dragons believe in anything else besides Magic.

Economy:

The Dragons order everything they need; otherwise the races trade and barter.

Military:

The huge flying Dragons (up to 500m top to tail) are quite devastating.

The Races all have small Armies themselves, but only melee weapons and bows.

Chronic Problems:

It seems the Dragons fear contact between other Cultures and "their" Races; the only other problem seems to be possible attack by the Demons.
